Gaming (Video Games, Board Games, and Tabletop RPGs)
I grew up playing video games, with my parents teaching me to play Super Mario Bros. and Tetris at an early age before being exposed to a wider variety of games as I grew older and found my own interest in them. I tend to enjoy many role playing games (RPGs), adventure, puzzle, and platforming games. It wasn’t until college that I got interested in board games thanks to some friends having an almost weekly game night to play different games. While working on my master’s degree one of the PhD students in the lab invited a group of us to play Pathfinder as an activity and that was my first introduction to playing tabletop RPGs. Since then I have been lucky enough to play in multiple games and try out a number of systems for collaborative storytelling and even run some for other people to bring them into the hobby. I was lucky enough to get the chance to play in a charity livestream and met some wonderful people. One of which invited myself and another player from that session to join a campaign they ran for their podcast Nerdy People Play D&D. I continue to enjoy chatting with people about gaming of many types, as well as how we can make games more accessible and inclusive for people.
Photography
I began taking photos as a hobby in high school and got more into it while doing my undergrad. I started off with film and learned to develop black and white film, but as I continued I switched over to digital photography. I mostly enjoy photographing animals, buildings, landscapes, plants, statues, and other non-human subjects.
